The Story of the Hershey's Chocolate Kiss

The Hershey's Chocolate company began making Hershey's Chocolate Kisses in 1907. They became so popular that the company later made these mouthwatering, foil-wrapped chocolate drops their company trademark.

Hersheykins -- adorable little elves with heads made of chocolate kisses -- made their first shy appearance in the 1980's. These mischievous, fun-loving little characters just can't wait to get their hands on a Hershey's product.

The Hershey company was founded in 1903 when Milton Hershey opened his first factory in Derry Church, Pennsylvania, which was later renamed Hershey, Pennsylvania. He built one of the most successful businesses in the nation, which was also one of the first to be both community-oriented and employee-oriented. The factory complex now houses one of the most visited amusement parks in the country. When Milton Hershey died in 1945 at the age of 88, he left most of his fortune to a school for orphaned boys.
